    Missing Your Mother

Mother’s Day is poignant when your mother is gone. My mother died a year ago, and here I am, a grandmother myself, tearing up thinking of her, and remembering her as she was in my childhood - bold, joyful, and beautiful, quite quick to anger but always fair.

I want to remember how delighted she was to laugh. She wasn’t perfect, and neither am I. She once said, do the best you can to give your children a better upbringing than you received; I think that’s an honorable quest. Every mother has by definition done the essential thing, got us here into the world. Any more is a gift.

    Cherish your mother!
